"SMØRREBRØD" - OPEN SANDWICH
Matjes fillets. Delicious fillets of herring are served with finely chopped onions and capers. Accompanied with slices of rye bread.
Peder Oxe's smoked salmon. Served with dill on a slice of loaf made of bolted rye meal.
Swedish style dill marinated salmon with mustard sauce. Served on a slice of loaf made of bolted rye meal.
The small delicate bay shrimps are considered a Danish specialty. We serve the peeled shrimps with lemon, caraway-seed bread and butter. + DKK 95
Classic fillet of plaice. The plaice is filleted and fried. Served with lemon, homemade remoulade and rye bread.
Smoked eel. There is a considerable difference in the taste of eel, whether it is silver eel, broad-headed eel or point-headed eel. We serve the silver eel with juniper berries, which are the best, in order to retain its juices and delicious taste of eel. We leave the skin on, because the skin also is a delicacy. Sun-ripened tomatoes are placed on fresh rucola salad with Mozzarella di Bufala and a teaspoonful pesto sauce made of fresh basil, pine seeds, Grana Padano and extra virgin olive oil. Served on rye bread.
Chicken salad. Small, delicate pieces of chicken are tossed in a light creamy dressing with crisp celery and fresh apples. Served on Italian farmer's loaf with bacon.
The delicious small lamb thighs are smoked and served in thin slices on rye bread.
Roast beef. Delicious thin slices of roasted beef. Served with warm soft onions, a fried egg and gherkins.
Beef tartare served with egg yolk, chopped onions, capers, lemon juice, sour pickles, Dijon mustard and 6 spices. Accompanied by rye bread.
2 kinds of cheese. A selection of the best Danish and foreign cheeses. Served with Italian farmer's loaf and butter.
Matured cheese on rye bread, served with meat jelly and sprinkled with rum at the table.
Strawberry pie. Tasty sun-ripened strawberries are served classically on a short crust pastry covered with a thin layer of chocolate, and filled with crème chantilly flavoured with vanilla.
